In 1997 Screenline Private Limited was founded by Bakmeege Nishantha Kumara with limited resources and with five best employees as a 25 year old young man he invested Rs.50,000 and set up a factory in Negombo to provide quality printing facilities for the thriving apparel industry which was mainly based in Katunayake during that time.
In 1999, he came to Kelaniya considering the locational benefits to the business. The apparel industry was booming at the time and Sri Lanka was becoming known as a quality apparel manufacturer
I.D.S which is Imaging Design Studio is a subsidiary company to Screenline Established in 2018 to cater both Apparel and Accessories to low Margin Customers. I.D.S headquarters and package printing plant is located in Kelaniya while it has its Heat Seal and Screen Printing Production Plants in both Katunayake and Pannala Sri Lanka.
I.D.S has expanded its boundaries to overseas export market exclusively catering Heat Transfer Labels and Logos.
The companies Glove Label business is entirely operated under I.D.S and currently has the largest market share in Sri Lanka for Heat Transfer Logos.
Screenline has ISO standards and International accreditation and patent for Screen Printing in Sri Lanka. Screenline recently acquired patent for Blue Sign Ink.
